In his fantasies the libruls of San Francisco begged him to stay and he looked at them with a cool grin on his face and said “Let that sink in” as he came in his pants.

It’s funny, I just finished Atlas Shrugged and it’s crazy how Ayn Rand got it wrong about those who can “do” must also have the highest moral standards.

Rich people really seem to think that them just having shitloads of money in a location makes that place better. I’m a midwesterner and even I know San Francisco has serious issues from how in about a generation or two it went from a working class industrial and military city to home of several of the wealthiest companies and filled with enough upper working class people to skyrocket cost of living.

So to Elon, don’t bring X to my city either

“Turn around!” they begged him, as he strode slowly towards the desert sun, but he knew enough of Lot and of Orpheus, that it would only bring them ruin if he did. So heavy was his heart, that he glanced back with melancholy love, and thus the fair city of San Francisco turned to salt. He kept on walking into that desert sun, a heavy heart keeping him anchored to calls of vultures naysaying his poor sense of direction…

~Honestly good riddance to both. I have never seen more narcissists in my life than I have in SF.~

This will have very little effect on SF in the long-term 😂🤣 All of their staff that was here are going to stay here - they’re not going to follow fucking X to whatever ass-backwards state Musk chooses

    So, to recap:

    • we have a huge office that will eventually bring in another major company,
    • the area keeps all of its best talent, and
    • we get rid of the grifter that regularly refuses to pay their rent/lease, taxes, and insurance bills?

Hell yeah, of course this is a win.

I’m guessing some of them (if on work visas) don’t have a lot of mobility. That doesn’t mean they will be as productive as someone else. Seeing colleagues go to other companies and being treated better on day one has a toll on worker morale.

Sounds like you maybe just have a habit of entering conversations on topics you don’t know much about (and in this case self-admittedly don’t even care about), so you get a lot of people who are more informed and do care expressing their disagreement with you?

Have you considered just not doing that?

An echo chamber for calling CA liberal? That’s just well documented reality my guy.

You don’t care about US politics, which means you probably don’t know much about them. So it very much seems like you’re speaking about something you don’t care or know about. Then when I, a person who does very much care about US politics, chimes in with insight you call it an echo chamber.

Honestly, it seems like you want to just say whatever you like and then rant and dismiss anyone who knows the topic and pushes back. Ironically, that sounds exactly like how an echo chamber works lol.

All of their staff that was here are going to stay here - they’re not going to follow fucking Xitter

At this point, for how he treated his employees, we can assume that most of the ones left are visa hostages that would be deported the day after being fired or incompetent people that faked their way to the spot and can’t find another job that pays the same. Or musk stans, but he fired even that simp that slept in the office floor in order to be more “productive”.

They are trapped and follow him everywhere

I imagine most of whoever is left at Twitter is on a visa, so yeah, they probably will follow Musk wherever he says to go. The alternative is people rip their families away from their homes that they’ve probably built over the years and move back to their old country.

Now, if Biden were to grant the power to protect re-employment to other companies for those on L visas, Musk is probably utterly fucked.

Musk is very anti-remote-work, so they have to do this anyway. Moving to Texas is only slightly less jarring than moving back to their home country which, in my experience, most people on visas visit regularly anyway.

I would be happy if all tech left the city. It used to be a hipster village of social non challants and detected alternative social movements. A shining, hairy, culty, body odor having, punk rock city on a hill.

The tech takeover ruined the city and contributed directly to the epidemic levels of homelessness seen because it made the city effectively so expensive non millionaires can’t survive there. Most long time san Francisco families ended up moving out.

Take all the rest of tech with you please Mr. Musk. Make San Francisco an affordable city again.

I mean the bitch wants to go to Mars. I say we let him. And maybe he’ll finally understand the complete piece of shit he’s been when he is running out of oxygen or is freezing in the vacuum of space because he decided to piss off or remove all the actual intelligent people and was left with the bottom of the barrel pseudo-engineer who created and developed his mars rocket.

It’s a fun thought experiment, anyway.

The rich engineers weren’t the demographic affected by the “rolling” brownouts. The people in McMansions had power the entire time, while the people in apartments were shitting in grocery bags because their toilets had frozen solid from lack of power for heating.

The “rolling” brownouts were really just rolling around the same poor areas.
