I stand with Palestine, and the rare spaces our public can spend time and educate themselves. Genocide is depressing. Hurting books makes me sad.

With all the people talking about how the books in this one library have been destroyed, when Israel has completely razed numerous universities, hospitals and libraries. Lives and information that has been burned from the face of the earth. This level of damage pales in comparison to the damage caused by Israel in Gaza.

If some spray paint in an American library causes you to clutch pearls but the literal bombing and razing of libraries in Gaza doesn’t get this level of response, you seriously have some inverted priorities.

This kind of action is more likely to make people reject the message.

You’re right that this doesn’t compare to the death and destruction in Gaza, but that doesn’t make it productive or helpful.

I think it makes sense to care more about problems that are solvable. If anyone out there has a realistic plan to reduce the suffering of the people of Gaza in any sort of lasting manner, I’ve yet to hear it.

But people spray painting the library? Yeah that can be solved. Report them to the police, take pictures. No tanks necessary.
