An Oregon man who drugged his daughter and her friends with fruit smoothies laced with a sleeping medication after they didn’t go to bed during a sleepover was sentenced to two years in prison.

Michael Meyden, a 57-year-old from the Portland suburb of Lake Oswego, apologized during his sentencing Monday after pleading guilty to three felony counts of causing another person to ingest a controlled substance, The Oregonian reported.

“My whole life is destroyed,” he told the court. “Everything that was important to me up until that point is gone.”

What’s “literally” in the article? That he was going to molest them? I don’t think you understand “literal”. I looked for two other articles (because maybe you should try multiple sources?) and specifically looked for the most sensationalist one (Fox, go figure) and the only reference was an indirect one that implied you don’t move kids like that unless you have ”bad intentions”.

So far that makes four articles I’ve read on this particular event.

Did you consider that maybe he was checking their breathing to make sure he didn’t kill them by overdose? I don’t know what the point of moving them was, or moving one girl’s arm. He didn’t undress them. Wasn’t reported as groping them by the awake girl. None of that. And I’m going to side with the prosecution on this one…had there been intent or history of molestation by this guy I think they would have figured it out and prosecuted him for it.

So your opinion on his intent is just, well, like your opinion, man.
