We use LLMs at work for tasks that would be nearly impossible and require obscene amounts of manpower to do by hand. Yes we have to check the output, but its not even close to the amount of work to do it by hand. Like, by orders of magnitude.

It’s easier for humans to check something than to come up with something in the first place. But the thing is, the person doing the checking also needs to be proficient in the subject.
