    It’s a con.

    They “eject” the “frontman,” then claim Proj. 25 is “less of a threat,” save some face to secure moderates’ votes, and then if they win the election they implement proj. 25 anyway, without any changes.

      Also, by kicking him out and then implementing it anyway, they take credit for his work. A very Trumpian move all-around.
