If I had an elderly family member who might be impacted by the closed road when emergency services were needed I’d be pissed.

Palm Beach is a community of millionaires and billionaires. If you’re not one of those you don’t live there. But, if one of those old farts gets a heart attack and the ambulance is delayed, there will be hell to pay. The mayor knows this. There are also not many roads into Palm Beach.
And the roads around those mansions that line the beach are 2 lane roads, with no on street parking and no sidewalks… Gotta keep those beaches private for the rich folks now. Can’t have any riff Raff there

They should have planned where they lived better to be frank. I agree with your sentiment. While I would also like to highlight: Most of us don’t choose our exact locations. I assume most of these people have due to their affluence.
