“I have spent my career inviting diversity of opinion. I think it’s important to have people at the table when some of the most important decisions are being made that have different views, different experiences,” Harris said. “And I think it would be to the benefit of the American public to have a member of my Cabinet who was a Republican.”

Calm down JFC cabinet members are at the behest of the president. If they end up being crazy she can fire them like that 🫰

Seriously. It’s like people don’t get politics. Get some milqtoast Republican put them in a cabinet position that doesn’t have any pull, and milk the stories about unity. You would rip the Republican party apart. The MAGA base are already calling everyone RINOs, the more divided they are the less powerful.

Do I think she is going to buck her corporate sponsors? Not unless their alternative is chaos (where she needs to drive the Republican party). The one thing corpos love more than raw power is predictablity/stability. Some short term messiness is fine ,good even if they can make money off it, but they die is true chaos.

Yes, this will be the final masterstroke where Democrats once again coopt Republican framing (or in this case, just Republicans themselves) and put the final nail in the MAGA coffin. Adam Kinzinger or whatever Never Trumper they tap isn’t tearing the Republicans apart. If you really think that’s going to happen because Democrats again adopt performative bipartisanship, you “don’t get politics”.

Cabinet seats matter, they’re not a performance or photo-op and putting a Republican in one will give you zero good will from Republicans. We’ve literally done this before. Hell, we’re still paying for the clap-back of appointing Garland, and he’s at least nominally a Democrat.

It’s not about good will from Republicans it’s about them falling over each other trying to find a way to stay relevant / in power while attacking each other.

There’s a world of room between “crazy, fire them now” and “actually embracing and pursuing Democratic policy”. Cabinet members aren’t there for photo ops, they actually do things. This idea that cabinet members are just opinionless public servants reflecting and implementing the president’s will is frankly insane.

If I wanted Republicans advising the president I’d vote for Trump. I wouldn’t appoint a modern day Republican to wipe my ass.

I’m not voting to put a fucking republican in a god damn cabinet position in this administration.

Homegirl needs to step off this dumb shit real quick.
