Harris says she would appoint a Republican to her Cabinet if elected

In a clip of a CNN interview scheduled to air in full Thursday night, Harris said she was committed to welcoming diverse points of view.

“I have spent my career inviting diversity of opinion. I think it’s important to have people at the table when some of the most important decisions are being made that have different views, different experiences,” Harris said. “And I think it would be to the benefit of the American public to have a member of my Cabinet who was a Republican.”

      Do you really think she would win over Republican voters, or win the election at all, if she didn’t give them something to hope for while they pinch their nose voting for a Democrat president?

        They’re an irrelevant minority that are already voting for her because they’re thoroughly Never Trump. Biden didn’t have a Republican in his cabinet and didn’t pretend he wanted one. Democrats can just win elections, they don’t somehow need Republican voters to do so.

        And swap this for every other Democratic constituency on the left side of her coalition. We gonna get a Palestinian-American Secretary of State? Or a BLM Attorney General? Let’s see one of those department heads arrested at campus protests at Sec. Ed. Republicans aren’t and never will be, a part of the Democratic coalition. The whole reason they’re Republicans voting for Harris (rather than just new Democrats) is they still want the opposite of Democratic policy. Adam Kinzinger didn’t join the left, he just has a greater enemy.

        Fuck, I witnessed what Republicans want the country to be like, and what they try to turn it into when someone lets them off the leash, for the past 8 years. Fuck Republican voters. Fuck every last one. Any who aren’t brainwashed maga pricks should be as horrified by the last 8 years of social regression, SCOTUS shenanigans, and nonstop horseshit from many Republican leaders as you or I. If they are somehow still undecided then fuck 'em.

          I completely share your sentiment, but she is trying to win this election, and “fuck Republicans” is not a good strategy for this.
