Federal Judge Blocks Trump’s Freeze of Federal Grant Funds

A judge in Washington, D.C., sided with plaintiffs who claimed the White House’s freezing of billions of dollars in congressionally-approved funding violated the law.

The Trump administration plan is apparently to use such a lawsuit to eliminate the power of Congress to control spending. Hopefully the courts aren’t that far gone yet.

Federal taxes are paid by individuals and corporations, not the states, so it would be on individuals and companies to halt payment.
