A large swath of Americans have made it clear they don’t care to pay attention and won’t care until it personally affects them.

So we’re simply going to have to watch our nation decline until the majority of Americans have personally been affected. Then we’ll begin a long, difficult path to gaining back what we lost, just to get back to where we were before the decline happened. Then we’ll be happy to be back in the same shitty situation we were before and probably let things slide back into a decline again.

Americans are stupid. And there’s nothing you can do to change that.

That’s literally the direction we are headed and we’re picking up speed.

Forced myself to build a new rig last summer largely because I had a feeling Trump would win and everything would get more expensive. I probably should have bought a new used car as well. Any big purchases should have been done before Jan 20.

Biden did more for college debtors than any president, ever. Did he entirely eliminate college debt? No. No one who was critically thinking actually thought that was going to happen, because what was probably going to happen was what ended up happening. A bunch of roadblocks got thrown in his way, including the Supreme Court. But he still eliminated many millions of dollars in college debt for a lot of people.

There’s no doubt that the Democratic party is not particularly great at running campaigns. But that doesn’t absolve the American populace from their duty to be reasonably informed. The Democratic party can run a dogshit campaign and people who are reasonably informed can still look at the hard data and see which party is a better bet for the economy and average Americans.

And to be clear, in a sane world, they did run a better campaign than the Republicans who ran on hate, fear, and absolute ridiculousness. IMMIGRANTS ARE EATING PEOPLE’S PETS IN SPRINGFIELD, OHIO.

That shit worked because Americans are pretty goddamn stupid. That’s not the Democrat’s fault, especially since they actually vote in favor of our educational system instead of trying to privatize it, like Republicans. The brunt of this shitshow we find ourselves in falls squarely on American voters and their lack of education/morals.

I’ve been paying REAL close attention for the last 20 years and things have devolved so much I’m pretty much ready to stop paying attention and live in blissful ignorance as things collapse around me. But I still plan on showing up to vote every 2 years. It’s our duty. It’s the only thing I can really do. I thought trying to fight misinformation online would help, but clearly that isn’t working.

So yeah, live in blissful ignorance as much as you can to maintain your mental health, but show up for the only actual things you can do to actually make a difference. At least then, if total collapse happens, you can take solace in knowing you maintained your duty as a citizen.

Dating apps are SUPER saturated now. Didn’t used to be like that way back in the beginning. OKCupid was cool because it was free and had no limitations. Bumble is one of the better ones these days, as far as I’m concerned.

Because no 3rd party has done the necessary work to become a nationally viable party. No 3rd party will be viable until they start investing in candidates in local/state elections.

There is no cheat code to make a 3rd party candidate president. 3rd parties have to start winning local/state offices, then get representatives in the House, then the Senate, before even having the possibility of running a candidate that can win a presidential election.

Anyone voting 3rd party for president is extraordinarily ignorant and assisting in the decline of this nation on the fastest timeline possible.

2. Most of us are here because it’s become clear to us that Reddit is quickly devolving. 3rd party apps banned. Sub mods with enough power to get your entire account banned site-wide. Subs that auto-ban you simply for commenting in other subs they don’t like. A new block system that changed to block your replies entirely, instead of just preventing the blocker from seeing your replies, so you cannot correct anyone’s misinformation for others to see. And the propaganda and misinformation is simply off the charts.

Reddit is becoming a social media cesspool like so many others before it. Time to jump ship.
