Interesting. Any idea why this is happening to SmokeAPI but not cream?
Hi! I’m British, I like music (grime, garage, hip-hop, R&B, and more!). I like art, culture, history, politics, & doomscrolling memes.
Also a touch of programming :)

I used to use aptoide for piracy many years ago. I guess that’s not a thing anymore?
A DNS blocker like pihole, nextdns, adguard etc might help with that.
Also even reccomended torrent search engine websites suck and only crawls through some websites is there any you would rec
Stop using these sources and learn how to use qBittorrent with Jackett. You can search hundreds of trackers all ata once in seconds. You won’t miss anything unless it’s literally just not available anywhere.
creamapi and related tools will not get you banned.
Unless you use them on multiplayer games, wouldn’t try that.
Just block the ads with a DNS blocker, like NextDNS.
I feel like it has more to do with the technological advances than being more prone to conflict
Yup. Reality. No point using a hyper secure chat system if literally nobody you know is using it.
I still remember the ordeal of getting through the Fade portion of Origins… it was awful.
The rest of the game was top notch though
I’m cautious about this game. It’s been redeveloped like 3 times into completely different genres, pretty much nothing has been shown about it, and Bioware is nothing like it was years back.
American internet prices are wild.
Exist? yes.
Do they work? I have no idea. I’ve never seen anyone use them in like 15+ years.
Could simply be a case of protecting their largest assets incase someone big really did try to replace reddit.
My most upvoted post of all time is about this very issue https://sh.itjust.works/post/2882678
I migrated away from lemmy.world as a result
I did just yesterday, through Prolific. Got paid for it too.
I don’t care. I browse my own subscriptions and ignore c/all. Problem solved.
I’d rather an instance that blocks too little (and therefore, has 0 effect on my browsing experience) than one that blocks too much (and therefore, does affect my browsing experience). I’m more than capable of blocking things myself if I want, I don’t need my hands held.
sh.itjust.works has had this issue for awhile, I’d recommend lemm.ee
I always forget passwords
Use a password manager! it takes me literally less than 30 seconds to generate a password (and username if you want) make a new account and save the password
I’d rec BitWarden
The workflow is so much better than relying on your own passwords
I wish there was one Lenny instance i could create an access and have access to the entirety of lemmy, without having to bother
That’s most of them honestly. lemm.ee doesn’t really block anyone for example. The only major instance that blocks sh.itjust.works is beehaw.org, but they block a significant amount of instances.
Just FYI but you can mod users on other instances to your communities on lemmy.world.
I got engaged and travelled across the Atlantic to be with someone I met on irc
