  • I had an account from 2013 with hundreds of thousands of comment and post karma. They banned my account without even telling me why. I filed an appeal and that was a month ago now. Still haven’t heard anything back.

I made a new account under a new email with a new Internet connection and a new device. It got banned after 30 minutes. I literally left one positive comment and upvoted a few things.

Reddit and their power tripping admins/mods can suck it.

  • I learned how to edit text pixel by pixel in paint 3d.

I had been skipping out on classes and while I was technically still passing my grades weren’t high enough for something my family was doing so I just made a few minor edits. I don’t even remember what it was for. Probably a ski trip or something.

    They never found out lol.

I used my pixel level editing skills to get a few friends outta some things or into some things.

I’m one of the few people who liked paint 3d I guess.

  • I mean who knows what’s going to happen in the future. It’s fairly predictable, but who knows when something is gonna come along and throw a wrench in the plans.

All it takes is another civi war. Or a world war. Or a global economic collapse. Then who knows what’s going to happen in American politics let alone global politics.

What if Trump actually does make everything affordable and our economy is booming again? Democrats would never recover from that. I don’t think that’s what he’s going to do but we don’t know until it happens.

He could drive this country into the ground and leave it wide open for Democrats to sweep in 2028 so they can fix the hole he dug. Again we just won’t know until it happens.

I’m choosing to remain optimistic that Trump won’t completely fuck everything into oblivion and that the Democrats can actually come back in 2028 with a real candidate that people can rally behind again like they did with Obama. I hope they can somehow stop pulling the ship in different directions and all get on board like the Republicans do.

    Only time will tell.

  • George W. Bush took 1,020 days off during 2 terms meaning he spent ~35% of his presidency on “vacation”.

Obama took 328 days off during his 2 terms meaning he spent ~11% of his presidency on “vacation”.

Trump took 380 days off during his first term meaning he spent ~26% of his presidency on “vacation”.

Biden took 532 days off during his term meaning he spent ~36% of his presidency on “vacation”.

I put vacation in quotes because it’s really hard to say if 100% of those days were pure leisure or if they were partially working, but either way it gives you a rough idea of how long each president spent actually working

For fun Carter took only 79 days off during his term meaning he spent only ~5% of his presidency on “vacation”.

  • I wouldn’t say it only rewards psychopaths and rapists, but it does take a specific type of person to be at the very top of the all time rich people lists.

The character traits often used to describe those types of people often align pretty closely with regular psychopaths except these ones are ultra wealthy and therefore harder to shut down because of their massive wealth and influence.

Poor psychopaths can’t get outta nearly as many situations by just throwing money at people so they tend to get caught by the system.

All that being said there are “good” rich and powerful people but they aren’t narcissistic or egotistical so they tend to fly under the radar and not catch my much media attention.

I know Myspace Tom isn’t considered ultra wealthy as he only has a piddly couple hundred million dollars, but the guy made one of the most influential early social media websites and then sold it and dipped out of the public eye entirely. Now he does photography and just lives his life.

We need more Myspace Toms and less Elon Musks.

  • Yeah unfortunately bad actors ruin pretty much everything. We can do our best as a society to set things up in a way where systems can’t be abused but the sad reality is we just need to raise people better.

Lying, cheating (the academic or competitive integrity kind) and many other undesirable behaviors are part of human nature but good parenting teaches kids not to use those.

  • That might work for now when those of us who know what to look for can readily identify AI content for the time being, but there will be a time when nobody can tell anymore. How will we enforce the tagging then? Bad actors will always lie anyway. Some will accidentally post it without knowing its AI.

I think they should add a tag for it anyway so those who are knowingly posting AI stuff can tag it but I fear that in the next few years the AI images and videos will be inescapable and impossible to identify reliably even for people who are usually good at picking out altered or fake images and videos.

  • The Democrats appear to be incapable of course correction at this point. Constantly in fighting doesn’t help anything. They need to get back to the basics and make sure people can afford food. Afford homes. Afford medical coverage.

Once they have made it so people aren’t worried about the basics then they can get into the weeds of social issues and whatever else they want to do.

Time will tell if they actually make any changes by 2028 election season, but if their recent behavior is anything to go off of I doubt we will see them learning anything that will help them by then.

  • Big tech… Besides Google, Amazon, Facebook (meta group), twitter and Tesla.

Good thing those guys are all small fish. Lol /s

I agree with the statement Vance said about big tech having too much power, but when you look at who the president is cozying up to it sure doesn’t look like he’s going to be big on pulling power away from his new buddies.

We shall see though. Trump is a notorious loose cannon. He could random turn on them at any point.

  • The best time to plant a tree was 50 years ago. The second best time is today.

You can’t go back in time, but you can choose to forgive your parents for their mistakes. I’m not saying you have to, but its up to you if you want to.

I hated my father through my teens. After lots of therapy and many years of self growth I decided to forgive him for his short comings and move on with my life. I can’t go back to change those mistakes he made when I was younger. I know he was trying his best or doing what he thought was right at the time. Our relationship has been much better ever since. And honestly I think he knows he fucked up in a number of ways since he is now trying so much harder to understand his three sons issues since we all ended up having (and are still having) varying mental health problems which he all but dismissed entirely when we were growing up. Since I was his first kid I got the least understanding version of him. My little brothers both got a bit more understanding version of their father mostly because I had already forced him to learn some lessons when he raised me the wrong way lol.

I’m sorry your mom was dismissive and unhelpful for the majority of your life, but at least she has sorta admitted that she was wrong now. For most of our parents even getting them to admit they made a mistake can be difficult.
