Russia’s war runs on oil, so less exports mean more oil for the war. Money is of course also important, but I really want the oil wells destroyed so that Russia can’t fuel their war machine (less oil pumped is also good for the earth in general). Second best is destroy all the refineries so that they can only export what oil they pump as crude - but then we somehow need to stop fuel imports.
@fell@ma.fellr.net After using unix (mostly not linux!) for 10 years I found that I just knew it and always got it right. I haven’t had to think about ln in the last 20 years - my fingers just work. I guess that is one advantage to getting older/wiser. (I’m just hoping I don’t get cognitive decline like so many do, though probably I wouldn’t for 20-30 more years)

There is a tradeoff. When someone is sharing a screen I want to see more of their screen. A powerpoint should 10 lines mx of large font. A screen share often needs me to see what they do and zoom in loses useful lines - to teams things I don’t even care about.
It demands too much screen space. you can’t rum less than full screen without losing important things. Even full screen I often can’ see the presentation clearly because it shrunk the presentation in favor of avitars / videos of other people.
now that I’m old I cannot see tiny text like I used to. I thus get really mad at useless spate while I’m strurgling to read the presentation. you will understand when you turn 45 too.
Having checked the mod logs I avoid anything from there. They regularly show up a deleting insightful comments - I thus wish to ‘punish’ the instance by ignoring is. I hope that makes it less valuable to everyone who uses it.

if you have what support soid in writing then ask student legal (most universities give you free lawyer access, use it) but in general specific advice like this will in court override what the eula says. The person who said you could should of course be fired but that isn’t your problem.
in the us fcc rules say these are unlicensed bands and they cannot make those rules about any radio. However the eula seems to be about wifi use but connecting their network to wifi and that difference is in their favor. If you get your own network connection (how?) You can bring your own wifi but don’t connect theirs.
What is lower class? most people consider themselves middle class and have employer health insurance, but a large number meet the common definition of lower class so I consider the common definition wrong.
It is a privacy nightmare. However if you only use it for keeping up with distance friends it is a useful tradeoff. However because they must have so much private information to be useful for that purpose you need to ensure they never have any other purpose. Which is why I won’t use marketplace or groups - there are alternatives that don’t already have private information.
There is no point here as very few conservatives are reading this. It is likely that most of them are enlightened enough to see the faults in their own side. As opposed to the large number of democrat voters here who cannot see the flaws in their own side. There are of course democrat voters here who can see the flaws in their own side, but lemmy is in general an echo chamber of “left wing” and a large number cannot see their own flaws.
I make it a point of blocking all groups and anything shared. The only cat pictures I want to see on Facebook are your cat, so if you share a meme I’m blocking all from whoever created it. Then I have a rule after blocking 2 facebook is done for this session and so I close the window. I have cleaned up my feed a bit by doing that, but I alone am not enough data to show up - I need the rest of you to commit to only using Facebook for sharing friends and family. Block all groups, marketplace, politics, memes, just share your life with the people who know you well enough to care about your personal life. IF enough of us do that we can maybe show up in data that there are people who don’t want that and so they will make an algorithm for us that shows more of our friends and less of the other garbage. I’m sure there is a lot more I’d like to see on facebook but I never do because I stop scrolling too soon - which hurts them.
That isn’t a win either. I have a number of distance friends that I wouldn’t hear about outside of facebook. I don’t live near my old high school, but it is nice to see what is going on. I wouldn’t have found out about that Ed died in a motercycle accident if it wasn’t for facebook, but it is nice to know. I wouldn’t see all those cute back to school pictures - they would be happy to show me over lunch but we don’t live close enough to have lunch together. Facebook has much usefulness for keeping connected to distant friends/family (close friends/family I will call)
The solution is to keep using craigslist - it still exists and gets some activity. Ensure that it gets more.
The middle class is much larger. Not ignoring the plight of them, but don’t force something subpar on me just for a small percetage. With several hundred americans there are a lot of poor but still a tiny percentage
Moscow is harder to hit because it is likely defended. Go for just as valuable targets that are less defended
