I agree for Cromite, but maybe you should double check Mulch? On fdroid it is said only armeabi-v7a…
EDIT : As seen on another comment maybe try to install Lineage, what’s the phone reference?
First buy a new phone.
Nah, just kidding 😂 maybe you should check Cromite (Bromite fork) https://github.com/uazo/cromite/releases.
If Bromite supported old devices maybe Cromite does the same?
But for sure this one from DivestOS will work https://divestos.org/fdroid/official/Mulch-arm-126.0.6478.122-1.apk (Chromium version of Mull)
Meta train open llms, only big techs can train AI… Go pursuit OpenAI or Google and leave Meta (I’m really not a fan of Meta but their “open” AIs are great examples of good works) do their work!
I would like to thank him for everything, just thx ❤️ RIP
This thing is really scary, any other articles?
Because today if you find a Signal app on Fdroid you’re sure that it’s nonofficial, on the play store only one app is allowed, the official.
Signal is using Google Push messaging, but it could be used with websocket. And officially it’s not on fdroid because they don’t want forks of their app
Great choice, now do not say the same thing next year!
There is ONE problem, the parents.
You shouldn’t disallow everything in your state… The parents should be educated about it and say stop to their kids, these days parents are submerged by all the techs stuff and they don’t understand anything. Sadly. The problem is more global, even 20-25 years old adults do nothing about their days because they doom-scroll… This shouldn’t be banned (but yeah the companies behind it are evil to do some evil stuffs), after they will banned everything.
Right, you should see this article too about the upcoming vote (https://lemmy.ml/post/17004141)
PS: Thanks you to have republished my post
For me you can try to host a SimpleX server and then connect to it (with SimpleX it is pretty as much secure to run its one server than use a public one).
Or maybe use XMPP but try to use a good encryption protocol. This option is great in term of power efficiency, XMPP would run great on a RasPI
It is legal just only because they can restrict the access to any of the services they want, in fact they don’t oblige you to use their DNS…
For currency converter you can use Converter NOW, most of the clocks can show 2 différents times but for the widget don’t know sorry (using mlauncher NO widgets.), for the weather use Breezy.
You should use an offline navigation map that’s always useful where you’re not in a known country and for me that’s all.
EDIT : a good messenger like SimpleX
If I want to host my services to the internet, I need to open a port in my firewall nah? is that not a bit risky than only allow access from the address of the data center to use this open port?
But I need to configure something on the client side… I want people to access my server as they access their Instagram account
It’s very depending on which apk you want. If you only want the apk of one specific open source app, just check on fdroid or on their git (mostly on github). And if you want play store apps without installing Aurora store, just use ApkMirror (their apks are mostly clean, cleaner than Apkpure in any case…).
