Based on what I see on the news, yes. Access to children who implicitly trust them appears to be the commonality.

To be pedantic, child sexual abuse is the vicious crime. Pedophilia per se is, I would say, a part of a person with it. They can’t help but get attracted to children. And under no circumstances that can be fulfilled legally, because to do so is committing statutory rape. Children can’t consent. This distinction is very important because (a) not all pedophiles sexually assault children and not all child sexual assault perpetrators are pedophiles; and (b) pedophiles who know that acting on it is wrong get little outside help.

The hyperbole is the point. They’re explaining that such a thing is theoretically possible.

I don’t have a definite answer to that. Instances are free to associate/disassociate, elevate/silence certain opinions. However, do we want an instance to continue to exercise if they become the digital town square like the pre-Musk Twitter was?

I’m very wary of the measures that could potentially pass if the some of the anti-AI art people get their way. I know how messy and difficult putting fair-use material in YouTube can be. There would be more of that in more platforms.

I agree unregulated AI is problematic. At the same time, I’m cynical on what the actual measures would look like.
