He was barely able to put together a coherent response to the infanticide claims, which was something even the lowest of information voters know is a lie. He let Trump walk all over him on immigration even though Biden put together a “bipartisan” plan that was just a Republican wishlist. If Biden had articulated any of that we’d probably be having a different conversion.

This isn’t actually innovative it is just not OpenAIs business model. This recent trend is honestly a much smaller blip than most people recognize.

Those are not the sort of model anybody in the field would use (medical CV with deep learning based analysis is a vibrant field with many breakthroughs in recent years). These are the sort of models tech bros are trying to sell to the public as general AI. There is a works of difference.

Yeah this is probably just straight up misinformation. By no means is a diagnosis going to be made by a generalist multimodal LLM. Diagnosis is a literally a binary classification (although that is an oversimplification) and on medical CV you are optimizing on that directly.

All that said, I am very much in favor of some of the things you suggest (particularly dedicated threads for discussion on each new movie) and I think it would probably go a long way towards improving the real-world value of the community. I think this is particularly true as it seems unlikely that with 1.1k subscribers the community has properly filled their niche.

There was a fair amount specifically upset that the creators had not decided to focus their efforts on contributing to lemmy directly. I personally think that’s silly as it’s not hard to find folks who’ve tried and had a terrible experience.
