Dollar Tree failed to effectively recall lead-tainted applesauce pouches linked to reports of illness in more than 500 children, leaving the products on some store shelves for two months, the Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday.
This is a company that doesn’t respect its customers or workers.

They’re insanely profitable.
Almost as if exploitation is necessary to succeed in today’s economy.
They are the very worst kind of economic vulture

This is horrible, but also not surprising. I bought a candy bar there once that expired 2 years earlier. I’m sure their inventory control is non existent.
Also, I feel like no one in power to do anything cares anymore. Lead poisoning children and giving them debilitating illnesses later in life “meh”. Policies are written based on if the policy maker can outlive problem and it does not directly effect them.
I can’t wait for them to get hit with a small fine that doesn’t scale at all with how much they actually make in a year.
The lead apple doesn’t fall far from the Dollar Tree.
