Okay Megamind says trans rights? I knew this would be the case.

Yeah I was gonna hop in here and say Fallout. New Vegas has all the themes of the classic series with the easier to play gameplay of the 3D era. That said though, I really don’t think you can start wherever with that series - IF you want a clear picture of what it’s about. I started with Fallout 3, and that definitely muddies the series themes a bit. Fallout 4 comes around and the realistic themes of humanity’s repetitive follies are all but thrown out the window to focus on the scifi, retrofuturism, and apocalyptic aspects of the series. Fallout 1, 2, and NV are the continued story of society rebuilding and making the same mistakes we always make as a species. Only the first one is a post apocalyptic game, 2 and NV are post-post apocalyptic with large communities and states starting to form.
No hate on the fun there is to be had exploring bombed out ruins, I still love Fallout 3 and I put in a good bit of time with Fallout 4. But while the West Coast tells the story of society rebuilding, with people making adobe houses reasonably soon after the bombs fell and eventually manufacturing concrete, the East Coast is full of convoluted reasons for why society hasn’t rebuilt yet in 200 years and everyone still lives in scrap metal shacks. Not that Fallout games are all realism, but I think the Bethesda games sacrifice the realism of how humanity functions to add more scifi components - and that’s just not what Fallout’s all about.
I should probably say an actual game series I think you can pick up at any game though, and I’ll have to go with Metal Gear Solid. Fantastic story that’s convoluted and told out of order. It doesn’t matter where you start, you’re always going to have fun! I recommend MGS1 for anybody with a day job, and MGS5 for anyone who wants to sink some hours into a sandbox.
What’s that in the weeds? It’s a baby, awesome!
Loved all of these as a kid but I think 2 is my favorite ;P.
I redownloaded Stardew Valley last night and was amazed to find it’s still less than a Gigabyte.
I know it’s not the same as a hyperrealistic 3D game, but I’m still amazed at how much stuff he keeps adding, but it hasn’t even scratched a GB.
Imagining a vampire showing up to Wayne and Garth’s studio.
“You may come in… NOT!”
hmm, excellent observation
Seconded, Nick is definitely gay and fell for the Nazi schtick. It’s not a crazy jump.
Um, yeah? That’s what everyone’s besides Team Trump has been trying to do ever since.
He acts like Trump just now deserves to be charged because he fell for that bullshit.
I don’t like to paint in broad strokes, but I believe that these people get grifted so hard because they place the consequences for their actions entirely on someone else. This could be a real self-growth moment if he would take a step back, say, “I can’t believe I fell for that. What led me to that?”
Yeah, glad people on that side are starting to realize Trump’s just a grifter, but without any self-reflection they’re just going to vote for the next loud asshole that promises them everything.
I really love the current gen controllers. I was using a Series X controller, which has a fantastic weight and feel, but I started experiencing drift. I decided to get a PS5 controller after that, and it’s even better! I use it with my PC, and the touchpad works as a mousepad, which has allowed me to play a LOT of games comfortably on the couch, when I’d normally have to fumble with my mouse and keyboard.
These guys have it made if you ask me. They sold development for Risk of Rain 2 to Gearbox (which, turned out not so great for Risk of Rain 2, but they were done developing it themselves anyway) and probably got a decent bit of money out of that, then they partnered with Gearbox to crank out a beautiful remaster of Risk of Rain. Now they have jobs at a company that paid out about $450 million to its 336 employees in 2021. I’ve been following these guys since DEADBOLT, and it’s nice to see them set up with cush jobs. No doubt they have leftover money from Gearbox; I’m sure these guys will set off on their own to make a passion project when the time comes.
Oh okay! I missed out on Advanced Warfare’s online, going straight from Black Ops II to Black Ops III. I remembered people not liking the boost jumping in Advanced Warfare, but I didn’t realize that’s where all the loot box stuff started. To its credit, I remember playing some splitscreen AW with my brothers, and I believe it had all weapons unlocked offline at least. BO3 didn’t have that, which was a disappointment for me in a rural area without internet capable of online MP.
FWIW the open beta will be open, but people who prepurchase get extra skins and early beta access. Activision has been putting anti-consumer features in CoD since Black Ops 3, to my knowledge. That was the first one where you had to roll loot boxes to unlock all the weapons as opposed to just playing MP matches.
Why haven’t more criminals thought of this?
Finally, I know what the phone call does! Maybe I’ve been too hard on Roger Rabbit NES…
By the time I got around to playing it, the number was deprecated and I definitely wasn’t figuring out how to actually beat it! I guess I just assumed it gated me from the end, when it was probably some other esoteric thing.
The name and the intro really put in the work to get you excited for some high-octane action.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit on NES. Ghostbusters was more disappointing, but I’ve at least kinda figured out how to play it over my lifetime. WFRR I’m clueless on. I think it’s some kind of point and click, but I’m not really sure. There’s a part where you have to call a real life telephone number to progress.
Pretty accurate depictions of what it feels like to play these games.
The opponent never moves.
Yep, I probably would too. Nobody’s saying Musk designed them.
Um, actually dude the situation in your joke was a bit outlandish. Do your research next time.
/jk, gotta be super clear in this thread
It is always time to rewatch MegaMind!
