  • But to me, that says you’re attracted to more than just a face.

And now you have me wondering if one of the reasons I can’t find myself attractive is because I don’t know how to describe what is attractive.

I would say I like thinner women. But that’s not true, there are plenty of women I’ve found attractive that no one would describe as thin. I can tell you that there’s a difference between attractive faces, and I could tell you that it’s always faces that appear to be women to me, but I can’t prove they are just based on a face. And then when you put a face on a body, Body A with Face A may be attractive, but Body B with Face A is not. But Body C might be attractive with most faces. And that’s just one layer of just appearance. Person A could look great in a swimsuit, but as soon as it comes off the attraction changes.

And of course don’t get me started on how that changes if they open their mouths and start telling me about how the position of the planets means something

  • Ok that makes sense, but opens up more questions.

Is blonde hair using it to insult brown hair? Is blonde hair communicating the desire to penetrate brown hair? Is brown hair actually a bottom? How does blonde hair actually penetrate brown hair, if at first glance blonde is a woman? Is this a BDSM thing?

I feel so out of the loop

  • I’m not a doctor, but something just hit me.

We use soap when washing to remove debris and microbes from our skin, largely to prevent infection and illness.

Presumably, the same idea is applied to hair. However, a single strand of hair has an absolute crap load of nooks and crannies for microbes to live in.

Sebum, the waxy substance that makes our hair and skin “oily” is a defense mechanism against microbes by creating a sealed surface (though some types break it down and create odors). Soaps denaturize this substance, and then rinsing it off removes this protection.

This sort of says to me that this guy also highlighted a question of mine I’ve wondered. Without a specific need to disinfect hair, or remove the built up odor, why the fuck would we want to destroy that wax we evolved to protect our hair?
